WINDEY (Alxa League) New-energy Equipment Manufacturing Base’s First Generator Set Rolls off the Production Line and Comes into Operation New Impetus Injected into the Pursuit of Green Development in "Desert, Gobi, and Desertification" Areas!
On March 7th, the ceremony for the launching and commissioning of WINDEY(Alxa League) New-energy Equipment Manufacturing Base’s first generator set grandly took place in Alxa Left Banner. Bai Hailin, head of Alxa League, Liu Zhiqiang, a member of the Alxa League Committee, Bao Ye, deputy head of Alxa League, Cheng Chenguang, general manager of WINDEY, and Wei Min, deputy general manager of WINDEY, jointly witnessed the launching of the first generator set.
Accelerating the construction of large-scale wind power and photovoltaic (PV) bases with a focus on desert, gobi, and desertification areas is a major measure taken by the state to promote the green and low-carbon transformation of energy. In the Government Work Report of 2025, Premier Li Qiang emphasized that to accelerate the construction of new energy bases in “Desert, Gobi, and Desertification” areas, further requirements were put forward for the development pattern of "Green Energy + Ecological Governance". Relying on national strategic development opportunities as well as local abundant wind & solar resources and potential for green electricity consumption, WINDEY has carried out systematic and specialized research and development on the “Desert, Gobi, and Desertification" platform generator sets at the level of 9.XMW-15.XMW, and has embarked on building a production base that integrates the manufacturing of main engine and energy storage equipment, vowing to turn the vast deserts into a "Blue Ocean of Wind and Solar Energy". As a vital foothold for WINDEY to achieve the massive commercial delivery of large onshore generator sets at the level of 10MW, this base will have a capacity of producing 500 sets/year wind turbines and 2,000MWh/year energy storage equipment after reaching its designed production capacity. Its products will be applied to the front line of the "Desert, Gobi, and Desertification" construction, such as the 4.1GW sand prevention & control and integrated wind power and PV project in Alxa League. This will further strengthen the strategic role of Alxa League as a national new-energy production center and an application demonstration city, and assist the local government in fulfilling the "Dual Carbon" goals at an accelerated pace.
Liu Zhiqiang said that as an important core area for the new energy development planning of Alxa League, Alxa Left Banner has made intensified efforts in expanding the scale of green electricity, enhancing the consumption capacity, and building an industrial chain, so that the new energy industry is entering a new stage of development in full swing. Liu pointed out that the commissioning of WINDEY(Alxa League) New Energy Equipment Manufacturing Base plays a positive role in leading and driving the large-scale and base-oriented development of Alxa Left Banner’s new energy industry, and also provides new and strong support for serving the construction of Alxa League’s hundred-million-kilowatt-level new energy base. Alxa Left Banner will insist on implementing the overall plan, focus on fulfilling the "two major tasks", and carry out the autonomous region’s "Six Projects" and "Six Actions" while following the league committee’s "157" ideology and taking a foothold in the specific measures of the "Six Threes". In the meantime, Alxa Left Banner will keep upholding the “Business-friendly, Investor-reassuring” concept to continuously optimize the business environment and sincerely help enterprises, in order to facilitate a large number of enterprises such as WINDEY to invest and develop with peace of mind, and enable entrepreneurs to bring their talents into full play and fulfill their dreams.
